Please read the terms and conditons below on Privacy and Data Protection. By commencing counselling sessions with Summerside Counselling you will be consenting to these terms and conditions.

We, Summerside Counselling, will record and store your personal information confidentially and in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation legislation that came into effect on 25 May 2018. We will use this information for the purposes of our work together, for example to contact you about appointments. We will not use this information for any other reason. We have made arrangements whereby in the event of your counsellor becoming incapacitated and unable to work or contact you, a colleague can access your contact details to let you know. They would only have access in such circumstances.

We will keep basic records and notes for 6 years after the end of our work. All notes are anonymised and there is no information that could identify you contained in them.

You have the right to ask to see the information we hold about you. Please ask your counsellor and you can view it in a session. You can ask your counsellor to change any information that they hold about you that is incorrect. You have the right to ask your counsellor to delete information that they hold about you. However there are some records which we are obliged to keep in accordance with the guidelines set out by the professional body with which your Summerside Counselling counsellors are registered, COSCA.

If you wish to complain about how we handle your data, in the first instance please contact your counsellor. Summerside Counselling is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a Data Controller, and if your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction you can contact the ICO https://ico.org.uk/concerns/handling or 0303 123 1113.
